IFP reviews the formal black carpet in this case at the Hello! Hall of Fame Awards 2012.

Hello5

¬†Madhuri Dixit Nene entered this event in a black ‘Dior’ gown with hair doneup and make-up kept simple. She does look pretty but wish the silhouette especially the skirt part of it was not pleated instead a slimmer fit would have worked wonders for Madhuri. Nonetheless adore her on & off the red carpet. ūüôā

Hello4

Katrina Kaif was also awarded the Hello! award where she wore a purple leopard Dolce & Gabbana print gown. This lady is effortlessly beautiful but her style needs loads of drama. I wish to see Katrina in more structured outfits than just in doll like dresses. Sigh! ūüė¶

Hello8

Anushka Sharma in Roberto Cavalli monochrome print outfit left me a bit disappointed. Firstly the outfit is too plain and required¬†accessorizing¬†plus the old fashioned hair. This look gives me the feel of a gown without any glam quotient. ūüė¶ ………..Not a fan of the dress.

Hello7

Sridevi along with hubby Boney Kapoor & daughter Jhanvi were spotted at the awards. Sridevi opted for a Prabal Gurung gown which was a dream….though I would just add that the messy hair braid was not desirable here…..Sridevi still managed to wow me. ūüôā ūüôā

Hello6

Ranbir Kapoor in jodhpuri pants & a jacket………….nice outfit but wrong occasion. How I wish he would have combined a jodhpuri jacket along with the pants to complete this formal look. Not a fan of the stubble as well. ūüė¶

Hello3

Arjun & Meher always make a good looking pair at any red carpet event. Arjun in his basic black suit was complemented by wife Meher’s golden sequin gown. Though not a fan of the gown but Meher sure makes this look work.

Hello9

Sonali Bendre opted for this bright coloured saree with a nude colour sequin blouse. I am taken aback by so many colours in one outfit……….this one is way too filmy for me. ūüė¶

Hello10

Sussane Roshan in a leopard print ‘Dolce & Gabbana’ outfit. For the occasion, this dress fits the bill. Thank lord that Sussane kept this look gracefully simple is minimal accessories. Like it… ūüôā

Hello11

Priyanka Chopra received the Hello! Award in her Dolce & Gabbana gown…………Every red carpet event I am sure to spot Priyanka in pastels………….Wish she would opt for more lively colours as seeing her in pastels is getting way too boring for me. ūüė¶

‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ Premiere

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on November 14, 2012

Yashraj Films Diwali offering ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ premiered at the Yashraj Studios in Mumbai. Displays of Movies directed by Yash Chopra adorned the canvas on the red carpet. In the memory of the late director YRF had this showcasing where all the bigwigs of Bollywood attended in order to pay their respects to the great film-maker. IFP gets you the update on the red carpet of this event.

The leading ladies of this movie looked goo posing on the red carpet along with Shahrukh Khan. Anushka wore a blue, shimmer gown by designer ‘Roberto Cavalli’ while Katrina stuck to her favourite ‘Tarun Tahiliani’ saree style gown in golden. Out of these 2 pretty ladies, I am wavering more towards Anushka’s red carpet style…………but Katrina did look beautiful. SRK was dressed in a tuxedo and posed with the cast, wife & friends.

Gauri Khan also opted for a ‘Tarun Tahiliani’ saree style gown in blue. The clutch looked out of place with this outfit……though Gauri did work the outfit well the styling of this look could have been way better.

The entire Bachchan family attended this premiere. Amitabh & Jaya Bachchan were dressed for the occasion with Amitabh opting for a tuxedo while Jaya wore a graceful saree from her personal collection.

Abhishek & Aishwarya posed for the cameras where Aishwarya opted for Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla design…as for Abhishek he went for a bandhgala in black. I wish Aishwarya would not start opting for more fitting silouettes since she has lost so much of baby weight. Wish to see her flaunt in beautiful sarees……………have seen too many of these¬†voluminous anarkalis on her off late.

Sridevi and Boney Kapoor walked in for the premiere……..sridevi looked glorious in a peach, shimmer saree [my guess – Manish Malhotra]. ūüôā ūüôā She matures like red wine with each passing day.

Madhuri and Dr. Shriram Nene attended the premiere, where Madhuri was in a pink saree while Dr. Nene went for a casual look with a dinner jacket over denims. I wish Madhuri would experiment more with her hair……….maybe an updo for a change ūüôā

Preity Zinta was the sunshine at this premiere……….she looked beautiful in a canary yellow saree with floral motifs all over. IFP does like the outfit plus the colour scores browny points from me………:-)

Aamir Khan made an entry with wife Kiran Rao. Aamir seemed to be experimenting with a new style of combining a vest with baggy pants……….unfortunately the pants were what went wrong in this look which he topped off with ankle high boots. ūüė¶ As for Kiran…………no complaints for her look which was neat & sleek.

Hrithik roshan was present with his family too. Posing here with wife Sussane who was dressed in a pink Abu Jani – Sandeep Khosla anarkali. Dress whcih I do like……….it is the oversized clutch which I don’t like with this outfit. As for Hrithik……….formals might have looked better on the red carpet……….:-(

Akshay Kumar & Twinkle Khanna made an appearance post their new baby girl was born. Twinkle wore an Abu Jani – Sandeep Khosla design as well in beige & bronze but it was the big hair that made the look go wrong. The emerald earrings and Bottega Veneta clutch is classy but not crazy for this look. :-(. Akshay Kumar did look dapper but it were his shoes that made me sigh…..SIGH.

Imran Khan who has donned a mustache and looks every bit like a Haryanvi but still handsome. Wife Avantika was trying to channel vintage look with the hairdo & outfit. IFP does like the saree but the hair messed it up. She is young and should bring out that image of hers than try to look older than her actual age……. ūüė¶

Rani Mukherjee was in her signature style – ‘Sabyasachi’ lehenga . Rani did look nice in this outfit especially with the pearl strings. on the red carpet IFP likes this look of hers….:-)

Sonam Kapoor in Elie Saab gown for the premiere……the outfit is beautiful but on Sonam it comes out to be heavy and voluminous. The gown does was beautiful¬†detailing¬†though but the entire look is not working on Sonam.

Rekha was all glam & glitter at the premiere in a golden Kanjeevarem saree. I would love to get into her wardrobe just to see her awesome collection of Kanjeevarem sarees. Though the colour is too bright for me…………..it works on Rekha. No complains here ……….:-)

Parineeti Chopra opted for a ‘Gauri-Nainika’ gown in black……………this structured gown ¬†required more definition in terms of styling. The hair is too soft for this outfit o=plus the clutch adds to my woes…………..a sharp hairdo combined with demure make-up should have done the trick………and swap that clutch with a shimmer one please. Not liking this look one bit…….. ūüė¶

Juhi Chawla was accompanied by her husband Jai Mehta. Juhi also stuck to her signature style of anarkalis with wedge kolhapuris……..I seriously wish to see Juhi in glamorous sarees and beautiful kurtis rather than see her in this look every time…..another sigh from my end. ūüė¶

Mini Mathur has me drooling over her saree choices…………at the premiere too she wore a beautiful white saree with colourful border. ¬†She poses here with her husband Kabir Khan…………IFP likes her look as she manages to stand out of the crowd. ūüôā

Ameesha Patel looked good in a white gown with dangling earrings and a shimmer clutch. I think this might be one of her better looks in recent days………IFP likes. ūüôā

People’s Choice Awards 2012

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on October 28, 2012

People’s Choice Awards has arrived in India finally…………..the only award show ¬†honouring people from various fields of ¬†pop culture across Bollywood, music, television and sports. Celebrities from the silver screen as well as television were in attendance at this glam event. IFP gets you a look at who wore what & how did they fare?

Katrina Kaif walked in looking like a doll in a Valentino lace tier dress. Many fashionistas did not fancy her strappy sandals in purple which even I would agree on………..maybe pairing a nude peep toe pumps might have done the trick but on the whole this outfit desperately needed a pop of colour. For the red carpet this look is way too simple and the glamour factor is missing. Katrina undoubtedly looked pretty but one needs to stand out on the red carpet rather than blending in especially if you are a celebrity. ūüė¶

Madhuri walked in with her husband Dr. Shriram Nene….Madhuri was dressed in a pink Manish Malhotra anarkali which did make her look different than her usual style of heavily embellished sarees. IFP likes this look of Madhuri and appreciates the fact that she has been experimenting with new styles lately. As for Dr. Nene……he is always dressed like a gentleman so why complain? ūüôā

Looked who just made an appearance on the red carpet post her recent wedding…….Kareena Kapoor is definitely a sight in white one shoulder gown by designer David Meister. Red lips were the part that caught my eye especially reminded me of the song from her upcoming movie ‘Talaash’ in which she has flaunted dark lips. On the whole Kareena looked good in this outfit…..she knows how to make heads turn. ūüôā

Priyanka Chopra wore a ‘Amato Haute Couture’ ….the entire look looked a bit wasted interms of styling. An oversized cuff did no good neither did the nude pumps or the tousled hair. Colour was missing from this entire look………wish Priyanka would opt for more darker shades in future. The pastels on her have become a routine. ūüė¶

Sameera Reddy rocked the red carpet in her choice of ‘Dior’ gown in hot red…….IFP likes this demure look. Plus the cuff & the dangling earrings made it look all the more alluring. Need I say anymore ūüôā ūüôā

Sagarika Ghatge made an appearance in Surily Goel outfit and Bottega Veneta clutch in hot pink. She did look pretty in this look…..longer earrings would have looked good on this look. IFP is loving her pink clutch though. ūüôā

Parineeti Chopra opted for a white ‘Anita Dongre’ design which needed accessories in colour. Plus the length of the gown seems a bit overwhelming on her petite frame. Parineeti is young and can experiment with her looks so why stick to this safer option which does no good to her cute face. ūüė¶

Hema Malini also walked the red carpet in a pink saree [my guess would be Neeta Lulla] at the event. Love the saree but not in awe of the blouse which makes the look rather very crowded. Sigh ūüė¶

Zarine Khan was looking hot in a jewel tone green outfit that had sequin bustier paired with matching clutch. From the looks of it IFP does like this look and Zarine did look beautiful in it. ūüôā

Celebrities at Lakme Fashion Week

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on August 23, 2011

Celebrities and fashion fraternity have always been like ‘Ying¬†& Yang’……..one is incomplete without the other. Celebs have graced the runway every season since the inception of Fashion week, but what I find more interesting is to see them off the ramp and on the red carpet. That is exactly when my devil’s horn come out and¬†mind spins into action mode. Let’s catch up on what the celebrities wore for the big event:

One got to see Karisma¬†Kapoor on 2 days at LFW¬†where she had come in to cheer for her neice¬†and sister Kareena. Seen wearing a white ruffle collar top with blue denims¬†and a b/w bag…….no one can do the basic white shirt better than Karisma. As I always say, Karisma is all about ‘Class’ and she reflect a good one in the above outfit…….

Though her look on the LFW¬†-Finale¬†Day could have been better since the top was more of a dress combined with skinny jeans………..I missed the glamour factor in this outfit. This one appears more of what one can expect Karisma to wear on a casual day……….for a Fashion Week, I wished she would have put on a more alluring attire to woo people.

Twinkle Khanna also attended the LFW¬†where she was seen in a black & white attire……….nothing much to ponder over but I do like the ‘Scorpio’ brooch that she had accessoried her top with. Rest was too casual for a Fashion Week………ladies please dress up a bit more fashionable.

Neil Nitin Mukesh¬†who came in dressed in a suit designed by Designer¬†‘Narendra Kumar’ looked undoubtedly handsome. The suit is all shimmer but other things are kept matt which works well here……..I am never in favour of men sporting a stubble on the red carpet, but in Neil’s case I make an exception.

Queenie Dhody¬†had daughter Tiara Dhody¬†for company at the recent LFW………..now here is the truth, they both look like they are best buddies dressed in similar style, unfortunately the hemline¬†of Queenie is shorter than her daughters, talk about age-appropriate dressing…………..I am literally bored of seeing Queenie do the short dresses at every red carpet event………..need a change.

And I at last get my wish of seeing Ms. Dhody in pants coupled with a ruffle top and a ‘Hermes’ belt to grab the attention to that slim waistline. Like it for sure………..hope to see Queenie in more of these in future.

Also seen at Sabyasachi’s¬†showcasing of his collection was Vidya¬†Balan. Vidya¬†is obviously wearing a ‘Sabyasachi’ creation. The peach blouse with a white saree reminds me of vintage fashion which a timeless beauty like her can carry off gracefully………though I am not a fan of her black potli bag……but that is just me.

Katrina Kaif¬†choose¬†a ‘Manish¬†Malhotra’ creation when it was time for her to attend the LFW. We have seen this same look at the Filmfare awards where more than half of the actresses were dressed in floor length anarkalis. Not a fan back then, not a fan now either.

The ever so ‘Hot’ Sridevi¬†confirms her star status every single time she steps on the red carpet……….despite the fact that she has not had a movie come out for more than a decade but she can certainly give new comers a run for their moolah. Sridevi¬†attended¬†Sabyasachi’s¬†show in a Sabyasachi saree………..’Divine’ is one word for this ‘Diva’.

56th Filmfare Awards – Red Carpet Review

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on January 30, 2011

The big, big, big nite had many beautiful celebrities take stage at 56th Filmfare Awards. How could I stay behind in getting the red carpet review for the event. Though I somehow don’t agree to who won the award since I would have certainly picked other deserving actors. But red carpet review is my honest expression, no bribing here. The event was held at the Yash Raj Studios on 29th January, 2011 in Mumbai. So keeping it short and simple………….let’s see what our celebrities wore at the award function…………….and how well they fared on the red carpet.

Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif was seen here wearing a Manish Malhotra outfit but frankly I am confused over whether it is a gown or a lehenga with an ultra long kurti???? What this outfit needed was a shorter kurti or better, a choli with a dupatta. Secondly this outfit was way too heavy to be worn at an award function, would have worked better for someone’s marriage. My Verdict : Pretty detailing, lovely colour………..but it was a case of overdressing for the occasion. Remember less is more at such events.

Malaika Arora Khan

Malaika Arora Khan a.k.a. ‘Munni’ wore a white and golden gown with gold accessories and nude open toe shoes. A ‘Diva’ like her can gracefully carry off any western attire and she did justice to this ensemble as well. The fault however was the design since somehow the golden one shoulder detail work seemed out of the picture. The gown would have worked better if it was a strapless gown with the detail work only on the bustier. My Verdict : Love Malaika in this gown, else the outfit would have not looked this good on anyone else.

Sonakshi Sinha

It felt like a breath of fresh air the moment I saw Sonakshi wearing this pretty ‘Gauri & Nainika’ outfit which is just right, given her young age. The green colour with minimal jewellery and ‘bling’ in form of the clutch. She also won the ‘Best Debut – Female’ of her role in ‘Dabangg’ which was truly well-deserved. My verdict : Love it………..

Vidya Balan

How can a woman always end up looking so flawless on the red carpet in a saree???? That is what I always ask myself whenever I see Vidya Balan in a ‘Sabyasachi’ creation. The attention grabbing statement bib necklace, the designer blouse, the black saree with detail work on the border………………Divine. Plus have never seen Ms.Balan in red-painted nails……..who so ever inspired her to get all dressed did a pretty good job. I am sure many jaws dropped once she made an entry at the award event.  My verdict : This is the tipping point for Vidya Balan & designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, please don’t ever go back to your earlier looks.

Urmila Matondkar

Urmila who has remained faithful to designer Manish Malhotra, wore his creation again. What a relief to see this beautiful women looking gorgeous on the red carpet. Yes I am still confused with the length of the kurti but Urmila is able to carry it off well plus the ‘bling’ is restricted above the waist and on the hemlines. Since her earlier red carpet sightings were a bit of a let down, this is better off than her earlier appearances. My verdict : Like it, suits her ‘petite frame’ well.

Hrithik & Suzzane Roshan

‘Lady in Red’ accompanied by her knight in shining armour…………………literally. Seeing Hrithik in those shiny pants and the grey suit I thought he had borrowed it from his father’s wardrobe where Papa Roshan might have still stored his 1970s clothes.  Suzzane on the other hand fares a wee bit better except for the pink clutch which looks out of the place. Again I would love to see her wear jewellery like a pair of earring on her gown. My verdict : Hrithik can look amazing in Karan Johar – Varun Bahl creation or a ‘Tom Ford’ suit.

Kajol

Kajol who made an appearance after a long time, also took home the award for the ‘Best Actress’…………………stylewise she seemed to have grabbed a Manish Malhotra outfit in a hurry. She is yet to lose her baby weight but why hide it under an oversized ill-fitting anarkali. I am sure that Kajol would have looked way better in a simple salwar kameez or even a saree. As for the baby weight, all I can say she still looks adorable. My Verdict : Honey you are beautiful in whatever you dress up but drop the baggy oversized clothes. They make you look bigger than you actually are.

Imran & Avantika Khan

The newly weds Imran Khan and Avantika made an entry very much in love…………….Imran was dressed in a tuxedo while Avantika went in for a bubble gum pink knee-length outfit with a black belt and nude pumps. Though not a fan of the shoes, I am happy that Avantika took a risk wearing this shocking pink colour for the red carpet plus the hair done up in a ‘do’ works for me. I would have just changed the belt to something with more metallic studs and shoes to match it. Imran looks dashing as ever……………..how many of our stars actually dress up like him for the red carpet. They are young and can easily experiment with their looks. My verdict : As a couple they look lovely, but I prefer Imran’s sleek look in the Tux over Avantika’s ensemble.

Preity Zinta

Is that Preity???? Whoa I never thought of seeing her dressing in Indian attire on the red carpet……………….no doubt she is looking refreshingly different and pretty but why is the beautiful work on the inner skirt which looks more like a lehenga hidden underneath the drapes??????? Is this another new styles of Manish Malhotra???? If your outfit has detail work please don’t hide the amazing work done by our hardworking Indian craftsmen. Preity looks beautiful but I am not digging her net saree. My verdict : Could have looked way better if the saree drape was different.

Rani Mukherjee and Shahrukh Khan with wife Gauri

Shahrukh Khan and Gauri made an entry with Rani Mukherjee and a friend, where the ladies donned midnight blue gowns  looking flawless. Like Gauri’s one shoulder Donna Karan gown but the oversized clutch is what I am not a fan of. Rani went for the shimmer halter neck dark blue outfit which for her petite frame works wonders. Shahrukh Khan is dressed as usual in a black suit and bed hair but this time the ladies got me drooling over their outfits. My verdict : Shahrukh is smart to have beautiful arm candy to complete his look……………;-)

Prachi Desai

Prachi Desai who was one of the nominees came in this blushing pink gown which was indeed very dreamy but her hairdo somehow woke me up from that dream. The braided hairdo would have looked amazing on an Indian attire than on a gown……………….anybody recall Vidya Balan wearing a saree with braided hair. How classy was that???  Call me traditional but this is somehow not working for me. I would have styled her with side swept hair kept open. My verdict : Love the dress, hate the hair.

Amitabh Bachchan with Bahu Aishwarya

Papa Big B made an appearance along with Aishwarya…………..I do recall that he had boycotted this award function last year……….let bygones be bygones for now. Aishwarya who was nominated in ‘Best Actor – Female’category was looking ravishing in this Manish Malhotra off-white creation. I truly wished she would have at least won the ‘Critics Award’  not that Vidya was not deserving, she is a brilliant actress………………but Aishwarya did stand out in ‘Guzaarish’. Maybe this is just my opinion but stylewise Aishwarya looks elegant. Big B on the other hand wore a two-toned blazer which he was able to carry off for this glitzy event. He received an award for completing 40 glorious years in Bollywood. My verdict : Father & daughter-in-law look graceful. Aishwarya is definitely my pick for the ‘Best Dressed’ at the Filmfare.

Prateik Babbar

Is this the same young guy we had seen last year at the Filmfare wearing sneakers with a suit???? Hell, yes it is Prateik Babbar looking suave and happening…………….Dhobi Ghat seems to have done wonders to his style sense. Thank God we are able to see his good looks in this clean get-up of his. I am sure he would have found many girls eager to party with him the night away. The black single button blazer suit with clean-shaven look gets a thumbs up from me My verdict : He looks very sophisticated…………Ohh La La…….

Raveena Tandon

Last time when I saw Raveena on the red carpet, I jumped out of my seat quite literally. But this time I am not disappointed with her choice. The black anarkali is also MM creation [Hope you know MM stands for Manish Malhotra who has dressed half of the ladies for this event] is definitely a good break from her earlier red carpet appearances. Though the dress itself does not stand out much, Raveena still looks good in it. My verdict : Strictly Like it, though I feel Raveena can do much better. I would dress her in more contemporary, sophisticated fashion.

Sridevi & Boney Kapoor

Sridevi is looking ‘HOT’ as the days are passing by……………..seriously I wonder why she never wore such beautiful gowns on the red carpet earlier. The only thing which should have been skipped is the shimmery stole. The satin gown itself is gorgeous enough, why let it get distracted by anything else??? As for Boney Kapoor, I cannot see him when his beautiful wife takes all the attention on the red carpet. My Verdict : Sexy outfit, skip the stole.

Red Carpet – Star Screen Awards 2011

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on January 7, 2011

The year’s first award function 17th Star Screen Awards was held in Mumbai where our stars graced the red carpet. But I am a bit disappointed on the amount of ‘bling’ used in the outfits which few celebrities had worn.

Sonakshi Sinha

The debutante of the year Sonakshi Sinha looks amazing in this net Shantanu-Nikhil outfit with black heels and clutch. I say she looks awesome in this simple yet sexy look. Go guys feast your eyes on this beautiful young lady. Stylewise, I am liking this look for her which is very age appropriate as well as the event.

Rekha & Vidya Balan

The original ‘Diva’ of¬†our film industry with the upcoming ‘Diva’ Ms. Vidya¬†Balan¬†look graceful in their respective Kanjeevaram¬†Saree. I absolutely feel no matter how the fashion might change, but a Kanjeevaram¬†saree is for keeps till eternity. Rekha¬†is all decked up in jewellery on her golden saree looks elegant but I do wish to see her in a glorious designer saree since she is capable for carrying any type of saree. Vidya¬†on the other hand usually dressed in Sabyasachi, went the Kanjeevaram¬†way. Though I must say I like this look of hers too. With a saree, Vidya knows she can never go wrong.

Shahid Kapur

Shahid Kapur who is all smiles here is not gonna be happy with my review. This attire is disappointing especially the untidy shirt. Shahid please tidy up and go a bit formal. That sweet smile needs proper dressing to go withit.Plus I am sure, designers would be dying to get you all dressed in their creations. So why not give it a try???

Prachi Desai

Prachi¬†Desai wore a ‘Falguni & Shane Peacock’ attire with the feather fringe type of design. But what I am not able to digest is the nude colour with black plus the animal print. Somehow on her that colour combo is just getting all washed out on her. Neck up she looks adorable plus the styling with the shoes & clutch was good but I would have loved to see her in a more bold colour. Nonetheless strictly ‘like’ this glam look on her.

Mugdha Godse

Mugdha Godse was seen after a long time and more appropriately dressed for the award function. Dressed in a black net saree with sequin work border plus hair all tied up. Honestly she is looking nice in this outfit but not awesome. I feel she just needs to go away from shiny, glittery stuff and go for matt shades. And to see her in a knee-length Herve Leger would be a dream come true.

Katrina Kaif

Katrina was a vision in red and was way better than her earlier appearances. This is more lady¬†like rather than her usual ‘Barbie’ get up. I am all in for this glam sophisticated look. Two thumbs up for Ms. Kaif. Such a fashionable look was long overdue from her end.

Kirron Kher

Kirron Kher was dressed in a blue saree posed with her son Sikander for the cameras.  Mother & son duo look good where Sikander goes for shorter hair and a formal get up. Neat I would say and like the attire. As for Kirron Kher who seems to be wearing a Tanchoi saree is perfect as ever. To complain against her look would not be appropriate since she always makes an effort to look perfect whatever be the occasion.

Sonali Bendre and Goldie Behl

Sonali¬†Bendre¬†looked very bit of yummy mummy in the blue gown plus with the bib necklace completing the attire, I would say that Sonali¬†truly stood out with her choice………………..in a good way. The Bib necklace is very much the object of attention on the plain blue background………….of course every outfit needs a biut¬†of drama. As for Goldie, sorry but Sonali takes all my attention so he would have to work a bit more to look equally good.

Mini Mathur & Kabir Khan

I am loving this saree on Mini Mathur with the potli¬†bag. She does have a bod¬†to carry off any outfit but I like the fact how gracefully she has gone ethnic from modern. As for Kabir, please loose¬†the jeans and come dressed in formals¬†for a award ceremony. You have a good personality, so why not flaunt it…….¬†

Stay tuned for more pics.

HDIL India Couture Week 2010 – Being Human

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on October 10, 2010

Salman Khan’s initiative ‘Being Human’-¬†a charity event,¬†had a bevy of bollywood¬†beauties walking the runway and taking the audience through the past era of style. Salman Khan also joined the leading ladies of Bollywood with Karisma¬†Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee, Preity¬†Zinta, Sushmita¬†Sen, Priyanka¬†Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Kareena¬†Kapoor, Bipasha¬†Basu………….beauty, beauty all around……….

Have a look at what every Bollywood hottie wore¬†and represted¬†which era, of course Sallu¬†bhai also made his presence felt as he too strutted down the ramp………….

Preity Zinta as the 1920s Glam Queen

Our very own Peezee¬†aka Preity¬†Zinta¬†looked lovely in a Ruchika¬†Pandey¬†outfit, a vintage hat, satin gloves and a feather to add a pop of colour to the entire black get up. Nobody could have pulled out this look so effortlessly as Preity did. She also walked the runway wearing a denim skirt, boots¬†& ‘Being Human’ top toward the end.

Katrina Kaif is 1930s ‘Diva’

Katrina Kaif¬†wore an alluring red gown designed by Gauri & Nainika¬†as she walked the ramp for ‘Being Human’ represting¬†the 1930s era…………..as much as I love the gown, I feel the outfit was paired with wrong shoes………..the strappy pair were more suitable for Indian attire than this divalicious¬†outfit. Ona more casual front, Katrina wore a pink top with a pair of jeans…………..

Rani Mukherjee as 1940s ‘Classic Belle’

Rani Mukherjee¬†all dressed in classic 1940s velvet chiffon lehenga¬†in black & white¬†designed by Manish¬†Malhotra¬†reminding us of the B/W movies as well. I am digging this look of hers……………she simply looks magical. Rani wore an orange ‘Being Human’ top paired with denim and seemed to be enjoying herself at the event.

Bipasha¬†Basu as the 1950s ‘Sexy Siren’

Who better can you have to represent the 1950s era than Bipasha¬†Basu since¬†the glam factor was just coming into existence in the 50s……….Bipasha¬†Basu walked in wearing a Sunaina Puri outfit looking ‘Oh so Fabulous’. Bipasha wore a yellow ‘Being Human’ top with a pair of denim shots…………Hot!!!! I say……..

Karisma Kapoor as 1960s ‘Flashback Goddess’

Karisma¬†Kapoor was fit as a fiddle when she came all dressed in a Manish¬†Malhotra¬†creation which reminded me of yester year actress Mumtaz. She indeed looked splendid and even more in her casual avatar – green ‘Being Human’ top and jeans………..Two thumbs up for this beauty who rocks.

Sushmita Sen as 1970s ‘Hippie¬†Hottie’¬†

Sushmita¬†Sen seen after ages on the ramp, represented the the¬†1970s era wore a Raakesh¬†Agarwal¬†orange shimmer number. The leggy beauty really reminds me of Zeenat¬†Aman’s haydays. She was dressed in a blue ‘Being Human’ top with jeans and black boots. Grrrrrrrrrr……………

Priyanka¬†Chopra as 1980s ‘Rockstar’

Remember Madonna anyone???? Priyanka¬†Chopra so much reminds me of her……………..dressed in Sunaina Puri outfit along with net gloves. She definitely portrays the 1980s era…………..equally rocks in her casual avatar in a aquamarine ‘Being Human’ top and shots.

Kareena Kapoor as the 1990s ‘Sexy Daredevil’

Kareena¬†Kapoor dressed in all black Varun¬†Bahl¬†creations complete with a hat & a whip reminds me of the hunterwali¬†from circus, who is ready to tame the handsome Saif……………wink, wink just kiddin. But she can carry off this sexy look with that attitude…………….dons a purple ‘Being Human’ top with jeans………Hot! Hot!Hot!

India International Jewellery Week 2010 – Day 1

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on August 16, 2010

The Indian International Jewellery show started off in Mumbai on the 15th August, 2010……………….of course our celebrities had to be there to make the occasion much more happening with their presence.

Deepika¬†Padukone¬†walked the ramp wearing an outfit designed by Ana Singh and jewellery by Farah Khan Ali…………..in one word Deepika simply looked ‘Splendid’………Deepika’s multi strand necklace had rubies and pearls with a similar neck piece made with diamonds, rubies and kundan………..love the ‘Indian’ look on her which she carries off gracefully.

*********

Katrina Kaif¬†also walked down the ramp for the brand ‘Nakshatra’ which she represents as a brand ambassador adorning diamond jewellery and wearing Neetu¬†Lulla¬†creation…………….though I must admit I am not a fan of her lehenga but nonetheless Katrina looks flawless neck up.

******

Mother – Daughter duo Lilette¬†& Ira Dubey¬†walked the ramp for Mirari¬†& Sons adorning their creation. Both were dressed in black……….must say that Lilette¬†Dubey can give other actresses a run for their money with her killer looks. Both of them looked ‘Awesome’.

Queenie Dhody¬†also displayed her creations for Giantti¬†in which Dino Morea wearing a manellery [jewellery for men] and pendant in white gold & diamonds. That is a first time that an actor walks down the ramp for jewellery………….I love new things in fashion……………love Queenie’s diamond cuffs.

Will keep you updated with more pics.
