Honest opinion about the Indian Fashion Scenario

Van Heusen India Men’s Week 2011 – Day1

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on September 3, 2011

Men’s Week is surely a treat for all the guys…….we women do have more than our share of fashion weeks and couture show all year around. There had to be something dedicated entirely to men without whom our life is definitely incomplete…….. 🙂

Van Heusen and FDCI collaborates each year to organize ‘Men’s Week’ in New Delhi. The day 1 of the event started out with designers like Arjun Khanna & Tarun Tahiliani presenting their recent menswear collection. Take a look at what your favourite designers have in store for you this year.

Tarun Tahiliani

Tarun Tahiliani envieled his recent work at ‘Men’s Week’ which had a collection of jackets, blazers, dhoti pants, shirts, kurta, belts, trousers and bags. The colour palette was more of pastels along with colours like black & brown. The range was semi-formals and more apt for men on the move. I do like the jackets which won browny points for their cut and fit, though I did miss a bit of glamour which one usually gets to see in Tarun’s work. This collection was way to simple to pin point anything exclusive or designer-like.

Arjun Khanna

This year Dhoti pants & jackets seem to be a ‘hot’ trend in menswear……..I am all for it too since that is something different one gets to see in a man’s wardrobe. Arjun Khanna had loads of these style trends in his collection where in the colours were primarily black, white and red. Though I am not to fond of red pants and bold checks, the jackets were amazing in this collection. The outfits had a very old world charm to them with the hats, bags, briefcase & bow tie accesorising the ensemble. What stood out was the use of wrist watch dials in place of buttons on few jackets…….now that is unique.
